On the 16th of November, 2021 MTN Nigeria FOUNDATION – officially launched the MTN Y’ello Doctor Project phase 3. As one of the foremost leading telecommunication company in Nigeria, this laudable project is to serve as their corporate social responsibility, as it sets to provide and improve access to primary healthcare services across communities in the 6 geopolitical zones of the country.
This project, which is to be fully executed by Market Doctors is supported by the Federal Government Covid-19 Vaccination drive and the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) to provide these primary healthcare services free of charge via Medical Outreaches on fully equipped mobile clinic trucks and also make them available as temporary vaccination site for the Covid-19 Vaccination over the next 12 months. This project is to spread across selected communities and market places in Lagos, Gombe, Rivers, Kwara, Kano and Anambra.
During the event, Dr. Raji Abdulrasaq – Honorable Commissioner for Health, Kwara State – commended the project, highlighting its synchrony with his state health program. Other dignitaries Present at the launch were Dr. Ore Finnih (the SSA Health to the Government of Lagos State), Dr. Segun (NPHCDA Lagos Coordinator) representatives of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Lagos, in person of Dr. Joy Agbara Chionuma (the 2nd Vice Chairman, NMA Lagos representing the Chairman – Dr. Adetunji Adenekan), Dr. Adegboyega Akintola (Deputy Secretary, NMA Lagos) and Dr. Makinde Akinlemibola (representing ANPMP Lagos) among others.
The Chairman of MTN Nigeria Foundation – Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi and other team members hosting the event alongside Dr. Yetunde Ayo-Oyalowo (CEO, Market Doctors) were super thrilled to make this project operation official. With the CEO of the implementing body emphasizing that, “Market Doctors will effectively carry out the primary healthcare services in the aforementioned states, providing free healthcare everywhere they go”.
